Y'dey Is Redeployed

Bandit reports filtering up to Verbobonc and through to Veluna become alarming. The Archcleric of Veluna meets quietly with the Viscount. Both conclude the Temple is rebuilding. The Archcleric pulls Y’dey out of Hommlet — too exposed there, too constrained by her public role — and sends her to Nulb undercover as Mother Screng, with Murfles posing as her ugly daughter. Their mission is direct surveillance of Temple traffic. Homing pigeons go in. The reporting cycle to Veluna begins. Terjon arrives in Hommlet as Y’dey’s “replacement” — competent but only partially briefed, kept at arm’s length so that if Hommlet is compromised the Veluna intelligence chain is not. Calmert is honest, zealous, and knows nothing.
